This summer Stephen completed another trip taking lorry loads of charitable aid to a variety of childcare homes in Romania. Stephen commented, “The round trip is nearly 4,000 miles and uses over 1,500 litres of diesel. It is always very hard work, but extremely rewarding and makes a real difference to the people there.”
Stephen has been occasional lorry driving for around 35 years having started as a hard up student in the early 1970s. Whilst he was practising as a lawyer, a client involved with a Romanian charity found out that Stephen had a HGV licence and persuaded him to drive a truck load of supplies out soon after the revolution.
Twenty years on, Dawsongroup kindly supply the truck and trailer, Cawleys the fuel and The McMinn Centre is one of our largest corporate sponsors. We would like to say thank you to them and to the family, friends and colleagues who make these trips possible.
